Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Richard Goold (“I”, “me”, “my”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how personal information is collected, used and safeguarded when you use richardgoold.com.

Information collected

Information you provide directly through the contact form (your name, email address and the content of your message) and through the newsletter signup (your email address) is collected so that I can reply or send you the newsletter you have subscribed to. Basic usage data such as pages visited may also be collected via Vercel’s standard analytics, in aggregate and not linked to you personally.

How your information is used

Contact form submissions are used to reply to your message personally. Newsletter signups are used only to send you the Build. Scale. Exit. newsletter you have subscribed to. No personal information is shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data security

Industry-standard security measures protect your data. Form submissions are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and processed by Resend, an email infrastructure provider. The newsletter is managed through Kit (formerly ConvertKit). Both providers are compliant with relevant data protection law.

Data retention

Contact form messages are retained for as long as the conversation requires - typically 12 months unless an active engagement extends this. Newsletter subscriber data is retained for as long as your subscription is active. You may unsubscribe or request deletion of your data at any time by replying to any email or contacting me directly.

Data protection and your rights (UK GDPR)

Your personal data is protected in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who I am: I am the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact me at privacy@richardgoold.com with any data protection queries.

Lawful basis for processing: I process your personal data on the following bases. Consent - when you submit the contact form or subscribe to the newsletter. Legitimate interests - to reply to enquiries you have initiated.

Your rights under UK GDPR: You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request erasure, object to or restrict processing, request a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@richardgoold.com. I will respond within 30 days.
